此件作品以一張多年前藝術家旅遊時，向路人問路所獲得的簡略手繪地圖為發想。他迅速地將周遭的路徑畫在紙條上，但於藝術家而言，那張紙條始終無法透落出正確的地理訊息。作品概念以這種由於對地方的經驗差異所導致想像上的貧乏，延伸至移居者因現實條件而被侷限在異地，導致對於過去身體經驗逐漸地淡忘，所造成於在想像之中試圖回返的失敗。藝術家將在想像中跨越、往返的過程比喻為鳥類的飛行，嘗試定位、測量及尋找返回的路徑，卻只能徒勞地振翅，最終於現實空間的淺灘上死亡。此件作品為空間裝置，垂掛的布簾象徵現實空間的侷限; 單頻道錄像則是模擬鳥類飛行的手影與振翅聲，象徵徒勞的飛行（想像）。

This work takes inspiration from a hand-drawn map given to the artist by a passerby during a trip years ago. Though intended as a navigational aid, the map failed to convey any coherent spatial orientation. This gap becomes a metaphor for the fragmented spatial imagination experienced by those living in displacement, where bodily memories of place gradually fade.

The attempt to “return” becomes an imagined flight—measured, repeated, yet ultimately futile. Drawing on the metaphor of a bird’s failed journey, the work explores the tension between memory, imagination, and spatial dislocation.

The installation features suspended fabric panels representing spatial constraints, alongside a single-channel video simulating bird flight through shadow and sound, evoking the effort and failure inherent in imagined return.
