During the artist’s school years, she often used bodily discomfort as a way to escape everyday routines, gaining a day of leisure along with a sense of lightness and freedom that came from temporarily withdrawing from the institutional system. In the absence of a clear diagnosis, visiting a traditional oriental medicine practitioner and taking herbal remedies became a compromise—both a reasonable and believable disguise.

The work Chrysalis overlays the image of a packet of oriental medicinal herbs with that of an insect pupa, symbolizing a bodily state suspended between repair and metamorphosis. For the artist, such a day of idleness becomes a stretch of time in suspension—one in which the environment is perceived and the subject is slowly shaped.

藝術家在學齡時期，時常以身體不適作為逃脫日常的方式，以賺得一天的閒暇時光與一種從體制中暫時抽離的輕盈與自由。由於沒有明確的病因，看中醫與吃中藥成為折衷的選擇，也是合理與可信的偽裝。

作品〈蛹〉將中藥藥包與昆蟲蛹的形象重疊，象徵身體處於修復與蛻變之間的形態。對於藝術家而言，這樣無所事事的一天，是一段在懸置的狀態中感知環境、緩慢形塑主體的時間。
